This is your best fit BY FAR, Liam! You look comfortable and not awkward, and you look your age. And believe it or not, it's not too far off from business appropriate, either.

Agreed - this is probably the best compilation you've thrown together.

Maybe just stop "trying so hard" - not to be demeaning, but you understand.

Lurk a bit more on SW&D to learn how to casually dress according to your age.

Don't get me wrong, I've really enjoyed swagging myself out in SW&D brands, but I think ^^this is a little misleading. What's venerated by the other forum is just likely to confuse your friends.

(I've collected many chestnuts, from the innocuous, But why did you pay $300 for those Converse? to the more troubling, I will not be seen with you in that...!).

Sure, but MC casual is sort of "what people who focus mostly on dressing up do when they're not dressed up"

SW+D can be overwhelming to navigate just b/c of the varieties of acceptable dress and the occasionally obnoxious relationship between price and praise. But it's arguably a better forum for someone figuring out their style who isn't wearing tailored clothing every day.

I guess it's not actually selvedge. It's taped. Interesting. I'm not sure if I can think of a good reason why.

I like it, just a little something that unless you knew about it, you wouldn't notice it. Kind of like the unbuttoned surgeon cuff on a custom jacket. Its also nice visually in my mind, gives you a better visual of the separation between the front and back of the leg. With the French Blue its very pronounced, less so with the more subdued colors.

Probably could do the same thing with three inches of CVS cloth tape on either leg.

Might be a good upgrade for all the Mabitex trou floating around.

I'll run it by Reev and Iroh...see what they think.

I tried to understand the WAYW thread at SW&D. I find SW&D to be utterly confusing (odd sneakers, painted-on black denim tucked into alien-looking untied boots). SVB's posts are about the only ones to which I can relate. NYR's as well but he x-posts here as well.

As a 40-ish y/o who wears tailored clothing to work during the day, this thread's been a gem.

A Partly Cloudy Day In Charlotte

Normally I dig your fits Mr. K, but this one's a miss for me. It looks frumpy compared to your normal stuff. That green on the pants when combined with the high cuff and bare ankles isn't very flattering either. A very rare miss for you. I think a more Spring-esque color on those chinos would work better. Tan, cream, or even yellow would work with such a high cuff. It might clash with the heavy sweater on the top half, but I think it would look more fitting.

I don't think its the chinos, but the sweater that dulls it down...

Whoah, whoah, whoah...I don't think I'm ready for that yet. I just started drinking PBR, if I go all big time in one shot I'll become an i-Gent a little too quickly. Gotta break it in slooooowwwwllllllyyyy.

You're missing out- Parker's been posting some great stuff in SW&D.

It's pretty much worth repeating Sturgeons' law to yourself when you look in all three of the WAYWRN's... but there are gems there.
