    Well said...:slayer:

You are absolutely right RE: Sturgeon's Law. Also, there certainly are others (MOK and Mr. K for instance). I'll give it another go.

can someone actually link to the cloth tape thing? Not sure I was here, or paying attention, when it happened.

This is probably the Why. You look at our cool leather jackets, sick tight distressed jeans and kick ass sneakers and don´t see as something you´d wear [IMG]. Most guys from WAYWT on SW&D are around 25 or under,or that´s what I presume. There´re some 40-ish year old guys. MoK posts there a lot and his fits are usually (always) awesome. He´d probably be worshiped here. Then there´s miran, but he just likes to talk about culture, food, and also be somewhat annoying and bash on certain posters´ fits. There are others, but like I said before, we´re mostly young guys there. Oh yeah, I forgot about Parker. He´s been killing it lately.

25 or under rules me out. Dodged the bullet. Don't gotta go to SW&D then :)

I need some shoes like this. It was a rainy day today, and I was slogging around like a fool in dainty Italian captoes. Is the sole a custom job, or can this shoe be bought as-is OTR?

Liam: You're over 25? Thought you were still an undergrad or something. Not that it's important, it's just that you look a little younger.

I just got one of the previous releases of the Rivets - they are really great trousers and I love the look of this blue...

Here's one of Parker's SW&D fits (you don't mind, right Parker?) from SW&D that I really liked.

It could have gone so wrong so fast- brown sneakers instead of suede shoes, or cuffs on the jeans, or wider legged jeans, or a hair cut that suggested military boarding school. But it didn't. Partly because he's been paying attention for quite a while, and partly because it doesn't seem like he's trying to be something other than he is.

That last is sleight of hand; we're all what we make of ourselves. it's a careful artifice that he is just this way that strikes me as elegance.

Plus, I admire him for leading a life without one leg.

edit- jeesh, you see what UC just posted over there? Great.

Parker's a crossover though. He can wear his hair sorta long, which, while I work in a job that wouldn't care, some of us just can't do. I'd look like a hansen if my hair was that long. So this sorta broadly fits his personality.

What I take away from SW&D is that it's populated younger people dressing in a perceived fashion-based idiom, outside of their actual personality. People like SVB and parker are dressing, in my opinion, directly within their personality and work environment and, as such, can move out of SW&D and into here. This is part of why Liam is having so much trouble, many of his fits seem "outside" who he is. His latest casual fit was more inside and therefore was praised.

MC is useful because it provides a forum for those of us who are sorta past the "fashiony" part of our lives and why I don't even look at SW&D.

I find that roughly 99% of men dress less capably than about the top 1%.

This math has held up for me over the years, although I remain open-minded.

I'm both. I just look substantially younger than I am, especially since I shaved my beard off and lost ~70lbs. When I was 19 I got called sir in bars, now I can barely buy cigarettes WITH ID.

I can remain confident that the remaining 99% dress better than average.
