XPost SW&D:

Nothing special here, but I figured you guys would like to know that the youth of America will be SF approved, with today's lesson being "Levi Strauss and the History of Denim". Taught 'em how to fade 'em, and why the dude made a fortune selling this sturdy stuff to the miners in NoCal. Also taught 'em about how Filson outfitted the Alaska Klondikers later on in the Century...

and as you can see, I already have a sartorial minded group of 8th graders, one of the kids made a dress with her mom as a primary source, with full on explanation of why it was made the way it was, historically accurate.

Thanks, KPO. What does peer level mean?

LOL maybe peer was a poor choice of words being co-located with idol but what I mean to say is Nick Wooster wouldn't be a peer or say another limitlessly resourced style icon.

NYR, that's awesome what you're doing. Getting kids excited about anything is what makes a difference between a good teacher and a bad teacher. I wish there were more teachers like you.

+1 NYR/Ace. it reminded me of my 4th grade "how to shine your shoes" activity. I never really thought much of it back then, until later in life. NYR is building a pipeline of future SFers
