I messed up my 93605s with a glycerin treatment. The glycerin/water solution didn’t absorb evenly. I ended up with stains that looked just like that. I soaked the shoes, on @davidVC ‘s suggestion, and the stains came out. I have to say that putting the shoes in a bucket of water was unnerving, to say the least. But it worked!

I like this seller’s thinking: it didn’t sell the first time because it was too inexpensive.

I defer to your knowledge. I have only used Renomat to remove surface stuff and it's effective.

@CWOyaji might have some cards up his sleeve.

I've had good results using Renomat gently on shell, but ran out of it and have been sticking with Venetian Shoe Cream on recent projects. One of my sons ended up getting these 93605s, after I repaired the chewed-up toplines with edge dressing and Revlon gloss nail polish, courtesy of Mrs. Oyaji.

I also used Bick 4 with a toothbrush and hot water dip treatment to get the embedded grit off the vamps. It took some time and lots of small amounts of hot water, delivered one bristle head's worth at a time.

They became a nice Christmas present for my older son, who's become a selvedge and vintage shoes aficionado.

Almost cheap enough for the Shoe Revival Challenge, too!

Here’s a shoe I’ve been wearing recently. Florsheim ventilated spectators, model S1557 c.1950. If you’ve never worn ventilated spectators, they really are quite comfortable on a warm day. View attachment 1164409

As someone who concurs those are a particularly nice example. The nylon used in them came in different weaves.

My daughter returned last night from a year of university in England. She brought me this lovely pair of Dacks shoe trees. This style was used throughout the 30's right up to the change in ownership in 1948. I suspect they made their way to England during the war years, but they have finally made their way home.

The Cambridge is one of their best models. Great last, great wingtip styling and details and it’s made from horse butts.

See, even that last statement can’t detract from their awesomeness.

6-eyelet Church’s Chetwynds. According to @CWOyaji, the newer ones only have 5 eyelets. Any idea when they changed?

These are canvas lined with Sulvaprene heels. It looks like they’ve been resoled, unless these are the standard leather soles from old Church’s shoes.
