Seriously I've fixed more washing machines than I can count. Post model and problem you're experiencing. Pictures a plus.

Using Groupon discounts disqualifies you from having the ability to criticize those restaurants.

This has turned up on my newsfeed. Whether or not you agree with the sentiment, it is definitely NOT the time.

F***ers. reminds me of a brother in law of mine who never misses the chance to diss the united states every-*******-god-damn-time he opens his stupid mouth and I'll probably be blessed by his obtuse world views and how the united states deserve this blahblahblah. he fashions himself like some china-loving renaissance man who likes to spew numbers like how his beloved china owns 70% of the united states already and **** like that. stupid motherfucker inappropriate asshoe- I'm sure next time I'll have the blessed chance to see him he'll go ranting about boston.

Oh, no it sure as **** doesn't. Not when I buy the groupon and it says there's no restriction, yet when I get to the restaurant I find out that there's all sort of restrictions. They pull **** like this all the time. ******* sucks.

Can you not just present the coupon after the meal and tell them to deal with it?

Ooof, control modules for washing machines are stupid expensive. If this fits your model it's $180.00. Unless you're willing to do it yourself you're looking at over $400 to have some guy come in and fix it. Sadly, it might be time for a new one.

EDIT - Although if you're comfortable with some soldering you might be able to fix it for less than a sawbuck.

Seriously. This is the problem with appliances (and cars, etc) these days--they are all so computerized that when they break, you are SOL. We get a lot of benefit from the computerization, but it makes them basically a disposable black box when they break unless it's something immediately simple like a fried capacitor.

And I say this as a programmer, so I'm definitely not just unable to understand them.

The most annoying is that things like motherboards cost pennies to make. The only reason replacing parts is so expensive is because companies want to hold you hostage. That thermostat to working in your high-end BMW? Of course its going to cost $4,000 to fix even though you can build a thermostat on your kitchen table for about $1.75!

Its planned obsolescence on 2 fronts.

First, the replacement part is priced to force you to buy a new machine, or at least seriously consider it.

Second, its designed to fail after a while. Computers are the best thing that has ever happened to this dynamic. Not only do PCs become obsolete by themselves (don't need to be designed to break since evolution is taking care of it for you), but they are now in everything, especially "durable goods" where they can be designed to reduce the lifespan of an otherwise sturdy machine.

In a dozen years, the computer in the machine will have a problem and you can't replace it because its not made anymore... so you're forced to replace the whole unit.

Its no good for profits if things lasts forever. Capitalism FTW.

There's a documentary about it called "The Light Bulb Conspiracy: Planned Obsolescence". Light bulbs should last 100 years and in the last 100 years we've managed to make them last 1000 hours? Its by design. Has anyone broken up this mafia? Nope. Still chugging along.

This bullshit pisses me off.
