Eh. If you don't need a business visa/refuse to get a business visa and are purely going down there for fun *ahem* it is pretty easy. I hate having to get the criminal record and all that other bullshit.

Russia's only hard because we don't have an embassy.

As you know, each country only makes it as hard as the other country's visa process.

yeah, I was just thinking of the time involved - I hate giving up my passport for 10 days, which is what it can take fro brazil.

I hadn't had a utility shut off or even a late fee since college. It cost me 150 bucks on top of the bill to get it turned back on and now I don't have hot water until tomorrow morning

while thats does suck, if it was less than 30 days late you should be ok. also im not sure how strongly credit agencies look into utilities. they are more concerned with home loans, auto loans and credit cards.
