That's a really odd example to post the day after a fit with Banana Republic pants got 97 thumbs

@conceptionistSo what your saying is don't dress in designer cloths unless you could afford designer furniture, oh and a nice car to match your style? That may well be the most moronic shit I have read on here.

You don't think it'd look a little off to see some du decked out in MMM or Tom Ford hop into his '94 Ford Escort?

it makes sense that someone who likes a particular style of dress would also like other material things that complemented that style. but it's not always true. also not everyone has the means or the desire to, for example wear a minimalist designer head to toe and live in a John Pawson flat.

however, it is nice to see fit pits against a simple backdrop without dirty undies on the floor.

No, that's not what I was trying to say and I hope you understand that.

I'll admit I find it hard to explain. Basically, if you can afford to buy outfits for several grand, you could also spend some of that money on other stuff to round things out. I'm talking about the small percentage of people who own a ton of baller stuff but essentially are poor college students. IMO, Those guys would be better off in most cases by spending that money elsewhere or you sort of just get "half of it". You get the clothes, but everything else is lags behind. If I had 2k to spend , I know I would feel better about myself if I would upgrade several different things I like rather than blowing it on one leather jacket, or at least save half of it. It just seems that the clothes some people wear are detached from the rest of their style, like they've bought into the hype. I've probably been a victim of this myself. It's jush something I think is worth having in mind.

the other issue is that the scale of furniture to clothes is off. I can buy an expensive shirt for, say, $80, while an expensive chair costs hundreds to thousands. it's a lot easier to have baller clothes than baller furniture. although I did just buy a very clean, designed keyboard, so maybe...
