Guya, quick thoughts - standard 114060 Sub in HK cost about usd6320 new from AD these days. Fair price or should I be looking at another country / second hand? Thanks.

Relative to the US MSRP of USD7500, and grey market deals of anywhere from USD6000-USD7000, that ain't a bad price.

Occasionally I will hear of rumors of a 114060 selling BNIB for under USD6000, but I'm not sure how true those are (unless we are talking about dealer prices, and not end user prices).

I'm about to purchase my second vintage watch. Rolex submariner 1680 Red, one owner from 1970 to 2013. Can't wait to get my hands on it (next friday)...

First vintage watch was this cool Tudor Snowflake. Unfortunately sold.

Wore this.

You are perilously close to looking like an actual PP advertisement there. Except the monogram. Which I imagine is very useful in settling any disputes at the laundromat.

Jules Verne looks so sharp.

It is against TWAT byelaws to say such a thing without photographic evidence. FWIW it's the loveliest strap I've ever handled.

sold the Sub

I can't help but feel commiserations are more appropriate than congratulations.

Rolex submariner 1680 Red

Now that's an entrance!

Also, selling something is not "unfortunate" unless you do it accidentally. /pedantry

Thank you!

Constructive criticism, I love it. That's one reason why I entered this forum - I want to expend my english language skills.

Here is my daily summer watch by the way. :)

16570 from 2007 Z-serie (with 3186 movement). White dial and sun is a great combo and I really appreciate nato straps.

Definitely congratulations! Not a fan of Rolex and most especially not a Submariner.

Had lunch with a watch collector friend yesterday, tried on his 5196g. Unfortunately it fit me very well :uhoh: And he might be looking to sell.

I have heard a few arguments against this Calatrava (small movement in larger case etc), but on my hand it was pure magic. It does not fill an empty spot in my collection, nor satisfy any other rationalization. It was just very, very nice :)

Anyone looking for a BLNR? Offering it up here before I list it on the usual watch sites. PM me!

Don't like the watch or personal reasons? I only ask because it's such a sought after and respected watch.

Whoa can't wait to see more photos of the watch...a one owner vintage is a great find! I love the vintage snowflake too. That's a piece I'd like to add to my little collection.

It's a really great watch. But I don't really like having too many watches and I'd like to start saving towards the Journe I want and eventually a PP 5712R. So I'm consolidating my watch collection. Already sold off a Pam 312 and putting my vintage Baume and mercier up for auction.

I'm perfectly content with a rotation of ALS 1815 up/down, vintage longines 13zn chrono, and Tudor Pelagos. Add a fpj cb and I'll be content, for a while
