Master Kiss' version for me is my "go-to" last. it's flattering for my frame and it accomodates the width of my forefoot. stubby doesn't come to my mind. i have at least half a dozen of them in two development steps.

Maftei recommended the same shape and we went this way. not stubby, sorry.

understood, luk is a EU 40.5/41 and i'm EU 44.5/45. go figure.

i am between 41/42 depending on last/ shoe, the OP's i have are not stubby but the 3636 i had were not a great fit, they were 41's perhaps a half size bigger would be better

Thanks guys! Consensus seems to be the P2 which was my initial thought. Thinking of ordering these exact same shoes at some point - Budapest model in Burgundy calf. Just realized I don't have any Burgundy colored shoes in my rotation. Gasp!

Also, does anyone have a direct overhead photo like the one below of the wingtip Budapest model on the P2 last? Just curious to see how the brogueing looks and curves from that angle. Tried doing some searches, but didn't see any. Thanks!

Having now owned a U-last, does the F-last have a lower vamp? That's my only complaint with the U-last.

I'd say the vamp on the U last is a little bit lower than the F last. But the U last has a higher instep.

- I was quoting one or two other posters, and FWIW they don't look 'stubby' so much as accommodating for the wider foot. I've not seen one ITF.

Slewfoot: the horror. Love the versatility of Burgundy and have a pair of burgundy C&Js that take a shine like no other cordo

Those are p2 alt wiens with a partial goyser in bordeaux. ....definitely want that on my next order.

certainly not. sometimes i have the feeling there are sort prejudices towards styles instead of the ambition to get the fit right.

The U last u mean? such a difficult fit compared to the F and P2 and I have backed off it because comfort means just as much as visual impact to me now. What I really want is Lobb/Corth/EG sleekness and style in a shoe with Vass/Dinck/Maternish fit, comfort and robustness. But a shoe like that would have no history, no tradition, no authenticity.
The 3636 looks a little too wide for my foot, but another catches my eye - can anyone comment on the fit of the R last?
It looks sleek - perhaps a narrow fit even - in this Buda-Oxford pic.
