These were delivered today, Austerity Brogues in New Gold Museum Calf on U-last. Love the color, a bit darker than I expected (thought the leather seemed a bit lighter on Rogers pics) which is perfect for me.

Different cameras, locations and lighting, but while they are pretty darned close I think I see what you mean:

Thanks guys! Yes, I thought that adding a burnished toe and back quarters would improve the otherwise rather flat Vass color finish. Its not museum calf, I know, but I still think it holds its own.

Hmmm, for me that's too much burnishing. I prefer it more subtle and with more gradiation from the finish to the burnish. But I think I'm an outlier in this case - and if you're in love then that's what makes the world go 'round - enjoy!

I see what you mean, and I totally agree. Abrupt and excessive burnishing is rather vulgar IMHO. However, I think the white balance and exposure is a bit off in just that photo. The others are more true when it comes to the burnishing gradient.
