1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

What last is it? New Peter?
This pair has a all around goyser welt. Is that special request?
It look like dark brown cordovan.
I like the rat tail back.

When I opened the box to inspect these shoes, I was taken aback to see how large they are. They are the largest pair I've ever handled from Vass. I then put them further away from me, and they look fine IMO, especially with the pebble grain finish. Shoes are meant to be worn with trousers over them, so wear them in good health. Just don't wear them with your Ambrosi drainpipes [IMG]

    Maybe I'll get some.

Please do report back on this. I've heard the sizing can be fussy, so hopefully it works out for you.

Give them a whirl and then try branching out to St Crispin's or perhaps Alden... [IMG]

The high boot is stunning to me. I like the ankle boot too, but the high boot looks really special.

My fear would be that pants will hide the lacing altogether, leaving an expanse of brown pebble that looks a little shapeless. The lacing is often the wingman of a shoe, but for a plain-toe, sometimes the wingman has to step up and close the deal.
Hmm... I tend to prefer my shoes w/o lacing or that show little to no lacing: plain slip-ons, venetian loafers, chukkas, and three-eye derbies. I don't own any chelseas, but I'd think they'd be similar. In fact, I just gave my brother my lone pair of five eyelet bluchers to make room for a pair of vass chukkas, that will hopefully arrive some day through Tom.

I really like those. Can you tell they are blue in average lighting?

You may check budapester.de for some more pics and specs of those, I picked some interesting models for the thread.
Partly I'm with ed though (if he's serious^^) and am not such a Vass devotee like most forumites.

    I need to get these.
