No connection between the two other than making their shoes in Budapest. Probably have shared workers over the years and they manufacture in the same manner. The Budapester you show is a classic shoe, the pic makes it look more impractical than what it is. If you wear any Alden Barrie or Vass 3636 shoe, you can wear that shoe in the same outift. Anyway, back to Vass.

Those things are just too cool. Not sure I could pull off the look, but props to anyone who can.

    :paranoia:

keep in mind, that pic is from a japanese site if I am not mistaken and that is a very small size (5-6 UK) so the proprtions are wonky. I think in size 8 and up the proportions look better.

Namor: looks like they are available in the US - but weirdly none of them in any size bigger than 10US at the moment.

Anyway, yes, back to Vass. Thanks Edmorel - maybe they are just polite with the acknowledgements and have the same web builder!

OK I'll stop! Was just trying to be helpful! Anyway it wasn't me who brought up Dinkelacker - first it was Vraivio in the Shoe Damage/Pr0n thread, and now you with these - it wasn't me!

But triple soled cordovan is still kinky, whatever the size. And I like.

Also not sure I could pull these off, but I also think I'd have to carry them rather than wear them so I could show everyone the soles. Those nail patterns are something!

They are chunky but that doesn't make them fuddy duddy. They're badass.

You may notice that most of the popular SW&D boots are rather chunky. Overly sleek shoes are often better looking off the feet than on, IME, especially if you weight more than like 20kg.

I wouldn't wear these with a suit, but as a funky-cool casual shoe? Maybe, just maybe. Larger sizes do create more flattering proportions.

I tend to save the term "montrosities" for lime green rhinestone-studded Pradas, and the like.

    You sound like Fritzl...
maybe he can help, I've seen him around lately.
Hey Fritzl, chime in, man! I think there are other makers in Wien that make these things.

The woman behind menshoes.de is Katrin Hoste, she's in direct touch with the Dinkelacker owners. I'm sure you can place a MTO deal through her if Panta doesn't offer this option yet. If you want something outrageous, try asking for quadruple oak bark leather soles. With gilt toe taps. I've never seen such beasts from any maker, yours might be the first in existence.

    ...and so it begins.
