^^^ Should not be a problem UNLESS it's really hot in there and/or wine is staying there for a long time. I would guess that most of it is there for a very short time.

Just grabbed these for Thanksgiving this weekend. Ham on Sunday and Turkey on Monday. Not a chardonnay person, can anyone comment on either of these. I've heard the Stag's Leap is supposed to be ok.

I've had a couple bottles of the Oyster Bay. Nice modest price point Kiwi Chard that will actually remind many people of a Sauv. Blanc. Lightly oaked, just enough to get some vanilla, some good acidity, and if I remember right some apples.

Thanks. Good to know- father in law and wife aren't into oaky wines. I've had the Oyster Bay's Sauv. Blanc. at a pub (I'm a loser) and I remember it being surprisingly good. It was more than half the price of the Stag so I'm sort-of hoping we enjoy it more.

I've had Rieslings I like better but this one is very interesting. Nice interplay with the acidity. Got it for 15€ and have another bottle.
Aside from the (possible) advantage of keeping the cork moist, it's also a matter of practicability. Easier to store (w/r/t access) than vertically.

15€ is a steal for this wine. I'd recommend storing the second bottle for at least four more years.
Why should horizontal storage be more practical. I am storing a large amount of my screwcap wines vertically in a DIN heavy duty racking system. Five bottles in a row, ten to twelve rows, depending on the type of bottle. Doesn't get much more practical than that.

You're probably right.

I don't really have a good place to store the wine and I'm not sure whether fluctuating room temperature does any good. I guess I'll drink it in the next six months. The time for storing wine is yet to come for me.
