Wow! A solid navy suit! I still haven't found one of those for me.

Have you seen "Girls" on HBO? My favorite line was the OB/GYN saying "They couldn't pay me enough to be 24 again". So true.

It's reassuring to see so many young people take such an interest in dressing nicely. It makes me think that we are finally putting the 90's behind us and all the cargo shorts and ill fitting clothing that came with that decade. I myself was guilty of many a sartorial disaster back then. :embar:

Amen eazye! Guilty as charged (including some crimes against fashion in the early 80s - I'm 42) so I'm working hard to instill in my kids some sense of decorum in dress.

I seem to be succeeding. Although some kid in grade 3 told my daughter her father was really weird because he was wearing red pants. [NO comments please ]

Can someone do me a Frenchy gif with a small child instead of a cart? :embar:

I also thinking this healthy market for flips is another indicator that there's a market for good clothing. Even the mania for Boss and Calvin Klein means people want to wear something other than cargo pants and t-shirts.

That seems to be in the middle of the pack, correct?

Been doing this since before ebay existed.
I always thrifted with my grandmother (who worked for SA...at the church, not the thrift store) since I was about 8 years old. I used to go to GW and SA and buy something good, then take it to the pawn shop a block away and sell it for double.

I enjoy when little things like this pop up so I get a little better picture of everyone else here. I'm 32.

I was thrifting in my Clarks boots before you were born! Not the Chinese made crap I have to wear now. I knew you guys were young but I misjudged how young, which explains a lot. Let me also tell you that some of you matured beyond your years. Stop that right now!
Happy hunting, I should take my leave towards AAAC I guess where I may actually be young.

    Big shout out out out
To jkidd for an excellent deal. Madras pants arrived in the mail just in time for more heat and humidity.
    Thanks man!

The wife and I just got back to Boston after a two week vacation and I'm still working my way through thousands of posts. [IMG]

    A 33-year-old's vacation Thrift Fit:

    • Shirt: BDG Henley T (Thrifted).
    • Belt: No Name navy blue and red striped canvas surcingle belt with solid brass buckle. Made in USA. (Thrifted).
    • Pants: PRL flat front seersucker pants with tapered legs (Thrifted).
    • Shoes: Rogues Gallery two-toned blue & white boat shoes. "Handmade in Washington County, Maine." (Traded for them BNWOT from a buy / sell / trade consignment store near our place.)

    • The ridiculous ticket / passport neck pouch for tourists is actually a cheap Dietetic Convention passholder that I appropriated from my mother and wear when I travel with my wife to bother her sense of style.

I'm still shocked at some of the great things that you guys have turned up: Crocodile cigar holders, great furniture (including asbestos-laden desks that I wouldn't risk flipping), guitars, and the usual mountain of quality castoff clothes. [IMG]
