Oh yeah, check the tubes on the Scott tuner. Probably mullard or Telefunken 12ax7, 12au7, etc. If Telefunken, research "Telefunken smooth plate 12ax7". They go for a pretty penny! But mullard and amperex go for good money too!

If you are planning on Flipping the tuner, you'd probably want to harvest the tubes and list them on ebay separately. Again, you need to get ahold of a good Hickok or similar mutual conductance tube tester. You get much more money if they are tested!

Search sold listings for the tuner without tubes. You can always buy used Russian tubes as "socket stuffers". They work perfectly fine.

Lastly, so you have the turntable, amp and tuner... No preamplifier or speakers?

Got around to taking the cover off this last night and attempting to lightly clean it up a bit.

One more:

normally i get sort of disappointed with the bandanas that i've run across but this is a bit different and pretty interesting: big, all cotton, 6 colors. selvedge ends but no maker. @leftofthedial any ideas? maybe worth the buck ha.

It curls from one side to another. The way it should be on the ellipse.@clothesgamesmisc I think it's real. But more pics of hardware and heat stamp would help.

@Nataku a guitar shop that services tube amps (near you Willies American is a great shop) will have a tester. they may even be comfortable with hi fi and bring it up for you, with variac and such. capacitors do age in storage btw, they dry out. so that would be the other thing. floating ground, i dunno a lot of good reasons to get vintage amps checked out.

Could these have started life as a color OTHER than #8. They are style 990 which is color #8. But, do the special colors like cigar shell have their own style #? These don't look very dark. Maybe they have just mellowed out to this brown color.

The picture on the floor is more accurate to the color in person. I have a tough decision to make on these. I bought them to flip. I paid more than I normally would ($65), but they are Alden Shell Cordovan PTB. The hard part is I tried them on and they fit. They are a little snug, but not bad. Apparently my feet are getting narrower because I am now wearing an 11-11.5B. and this is A width. But, I think the Barrie last is the longest and widest of Alden Lasts.

Flip and thrift yourself something better. Life is too short to have to justify keeping shoes that don't really fit. If they're snug...they're snug. They don't fit.
