Some non thrift come ups from the past few weeks:
Hit a department store outlet during their reopening sale and went a little nuts. ~ 15% of retail.

For me - an Eidos speckly/marled/donegal suit that fits near perfect off the rack, chup x smartwool fair isle socks, and Wings + Horns coolmax shorts. To flip/available - DM x Sex pistols slip ons and Norse Projects Chinos.

A local consignment store went out of business and I picked up some gems on final clearance:

Engineered Garments single needle tailoring in a super lightweight variable striped fabric.

Ideal summer overshirt, rich navy color and a covered placket.

Annd my bi-annual bite on the Mr Porter sale - Drakes drilles in a great terra cotta shade.

And a couple of ethrifts from the covid doldrums when the stores were closed:

DM x Hieronymous Bosch hell boots - not that thriftily priced but I've had my eye on these boots for a while.

Albertus Swanepoel fur felt. Trying to flesh out my brimmed hat selection, partially for style, partially to keep the skin on my face from frying off. More brim:

I wasn't ever a baseball cap guy, but this is a cool ******* cap. So now I am.

A green denim bucket hat, from what appears to be a gardening/hat shop in Paris called Cap Of Tee

Finally, some pants. I grabbed these RRL black selvedge slims off ebay a couple of years ago and just never put the time into breaking them in.

So recently I found them tucked away and said *******, worn them in the shower, let them dry on me, and kept wearing them for about two weeks. Now they're my favorite jeans.

And the first thing I thrifted after things began opening up? The quintessential thrifted pants, Dickies white painters jeans in my size and like new shape. No tags at all, not sure if they're vintage or not, don't care.

Don't know man... All I keep seeing are folks lining up to donate, but absolute dog **** on the racks and bins.

If you balance out the risk/reward factor, hhhmmmm....

And the bins are not even crowded. Wondering if the regulars know something I don't?
