It was partly my fault. I had a guy that did a coolant refill 3 or 5 years ago. Charged $300ish. His phone rang and rang 2 days ago. Today, it came up as Disconnected. I called a Craigslist guy that would do it for $350. This morning he was wishy washy that he was on another job, etc. My wife is bugging me that it's been 2 days! yada yada.

So I called one of the companies that advertise on the radio and TV and that's what you get. They are professionally dressed and wear masks, foot sox, the whole bit. Lets just say that my old guy may have had a problem even donning a mask. Oh well.

I'm 100% in your wife's camp. Mine stopped working yesterday. I would've paid $5000 to get it fixed today if that's what it would've taken. When you keep your house at 67 normally, 76 feels like the seventh circle of hell.

She told the technician as much, "God bless you!" I should add that, if it breaks down tomorrow, I can call them back and they'll make it right. My old guy would have probably disappeared.

It's working great. My toes are cold as I type this (wife needs it to be ultra cold, lol)

My favorite new restaurant is Yardbird, the DC outpost of the popular Miami-based restaurant that serves modern twists on Southern classics. I have been to the Miami location many times, and the DC restaurant does not disappoint. It is completely decadent, so don't tell your doctor you went here.

How's the fried chicken? I have (historically) found that places with very expensive fried chicken never measure up to places that make you wonder how clean the kitchen is.

Really, really good. The chicken is brined for 27 hours before frying. Of course taste is subjective, but the number of Yardbird restaurants (six plus planned openings in Chicago, Boston, London, and Dubai) indicates they're doing something right.

Five star rating of Yardbirds, Bonchon and Popeyes...that's really the only way I can compare.

I really feel like Korean/Asian fried chicken needs to be considered completely separately from American fried chicken, which itself is a separate thing from wings.
yeah they are different... guess my preferences more for Korean/Asian fried chicken if I am in the mood as I like that extra kick.

Which they're all different from fried chicken sandwiches.
