X-post from the shoe care thread... I need some assistance. These are my #8 Alden x J.Crew PCT boots. Got them new and they're now about 8 months old and truthfully, haven't been cared for very much other than a couple of Reno treatments every few months. They've lightened up considerably since I got them and I have now just noticed this dark spot on the vamp of the left boot. I am 99% sure I haven't spilled oil or anything on them. I think the spot gradually appeared as the boots lightened. It's almost like it was a dye stain that was covered with the finishing that Alden performed. IRL the spot/stain is not that noticeable as in these pics. Can anyone suggest what I can do to get rid of it? I'm not much of a wax fan and rarely use anything other than Reno or VC on any of my footwear. But I will on these if it will help.
Unless you are willing to mask it with Saphir shell cordovan cream in color "cordovan", it is probably there to stay.

Everyone...thanks for the compliments...may be my favorite aldens that I have so far. Although my 8 cordo indys are pretty up there as well.

Shoes are from Unipair and socks are BB.

Well...these saddles deserve a quick post. Really liking them...black grain and Color 8. Billed as Leydon, but feel Barrie to me. Can anyone tell by looking. :D

Hi folks,

These are from my product/style blog, Blindbully.com, where I post original photos of the best products I can get my hands on. The photos on this site appear to be limited to 1000px wide, on my site they're 1440px, if you're like me and demand large images check them out there--enjoy either way.

I almost got the Allen Edmonds Eagle County Boots, but I read on their site there were delaminating issues. I'll probably buy them this season from their store where they'll have to deal with me in person if they have quality issues (the convenience of NYC).

Allen Edmonds Strand in Walnut, Size 13.

Thanks for the kind words fellas on my new #8 PTBs.

The Shoe Mart is TOTALLY worth checking out if you're in the NYC area. Its about an hour drive if that. They had an awesome pair of #8 short wings but they were 12 C/E and too darn wide for even me. I'm glad I went with the PTBs though. I feel those are the Swiss Army knife of Alden shoes.
