good looking presentation
consider some work on the outer soles
So Mac, I just received some Whiskey LWB's with a light sole. Just how should one approach sole cleaning. Toothbrush with Neutral Cream or Wax?

I love the Chukka style.  It's nicer for the upcoming cooler months and is just more shoe overall.  BTW just received today my new Whiskey Chukkas from Alden of NY.  What a dreamy color, darkened honey, lovely.

If you could post some pics, that would be great, thanks

Absolutely fantastic to see the differences in undertones here. As one w/ Cigars leaning closer to chocolate than olive, it's great to see all these colors.

Actually had this question as well - is a welt brush a necessity, or just a dedicated toothbrush?

EDIT:

Also a quick question - I'd mentioned to my wife that I needed some shoe trees and she dug me out some that her brother had used from Ikea. As pictured here:

I've read opinion on the board that these are a disaster for shoes though. Thoughts or previous experiences?

Get decent shoe trees. The shoes we discuss on this forum are worthy of something better than that, IMO.

I do own decent trees. Just wanted to know more about these things.

However, if they do effectively fill the same role, why not?

To me, it seems like the difference is that you lose the qualities of cedar that help soak up moisture and keep the shoes smelling nice. Also, you lose the nice thick back that keeps the butt end of the shoes in good shape. If you're only concerned with keeping the vamp and toe box nicely shaped, then I suppose you'd probably be good with those. Just my $0.02.

I really like those navy suede LWBs, who made those up (who am I kidding - must be from Epaulet :tounge: )

The second pic is frameworthy (assuming those are your wife's toes, otherwise it's walletworthy).

Actually, they're Alden x Leffot.
