1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Just ordered Cigar PTB with plantation sole from Winn Perry.

Great looking shoe - love my PTBs, and the crepe sole is VERY comfortable - walked around Prague for three days last week wearing Ravello longwings with crepe.

Afraid not, but the model number is and you can usually trace that back to a last by with a quick online search.

Can someone help me out. . .I have yet to wear the Aberdeen last, and after reading the threads I am more confused than before, so I will go with the general consensus on the following question:

11D Barrie Last = ?D Aberdeen Last? (keeping in mind that with the Barrie last I have room to spare in the length, but is snug on width)

It's probably better for you to try on the Aberdeen in person. I've tried on a number of different length/width combination and none fit me. It's always either tight in the toe and good everywhere else, or good in the toe and too large in the heel.

I have a narrow foot and favor the Hampton and Plaza lasts.

I accidentially posted this in the Epaulet thread...

Looking to get an Alden boot, I figure I should get one for the upcoming spring season and then add another if necessary before the fall; no need to buy two right now

I'm looking at these models right now, which one is best for the transition from cold to cool to warm weather (let's say February through early June)

I love the look of the Jumpers, I bought it as soon as it came out on the site, called up LSBH. I think they're pretty versatile! Haven't actually gotten them yet as I ordered them yesterday but yeah!

I love that cigar officer's boot, but I don't know if it's the best boot for warm weather - some people feel that shell "wears warm".

The new jumper boots are nice... But they look almost identical to my AE bayfields +$200...

I don't think it looks anything like the Bayfield. It's just the same 'type' of shoe: Quarter brogue brown boot. The Chromexcel is different and the style is also completely different.

Agreed! So glad I picked up a pair - sure they're going to fly off the shelves.

Really tried to make it work but unfortunately, Barrie last is not for me.
PM me if you're interested in 9D Pitt Boots (Black Shell Cordovan).

I'll post something in B&S sometime this weekend.

    Price Increase Savings?

Aldens will cost $40 after Feb. 26, but if bought before then they're only $20?

    Fail at English.

So after deciding that the Epaulet Chromexcel Officer Indy was the Indy for me a few weeks ago, i emailed epaulet to find out there wouldnt be any more until next fall. Then last night, a new-in-box pair in my size hit ebay, which I quickly purchased the moment I saw it. Hooray!

What the hell... just 1.5-2 years ago (or maybe even less) the standard 405 was only ~330, it's currently hovering around ~420 and it's soon going to be more?

I wonder if this will affect LeatherSoul's stuff?

Nah, that's bullshit. This increasing is web pricing. If you can find a place that sells Alden locally the prices will always be lower. There's a really great place near where I live that's an Alden retailer and they have the Indy for 385. Most of the calf leather shoes are below 400.

lol, and where do you think these places buy their Alden's from? the Alden fairy, who is not effected by factory price increases? and do you know Shoemart is an actual store you can walk into? I've done it!

Same here. If you are talking about H Stockton in Atlanta, I've already asked them about this and they say they will be affected by the increase.
