    Better suited to PTs for sure but useful for any model in my opinion.

    Tom, is the pen trick only for shell or do you use it for calf as well?

    Of my 4 pair, 2 are speed-laced and 2 are conventional. 2 Barrie and 2 Trubalance. I prefer the look and feel of the conventional lacing. I find them neater, more reliable and easier to lace. I have the Jumper and the Indy, both color #8, and only need the top eyelets unlaced to get them on. The broad nature of the last/boot allow this. As you'll find on the Forum, though, it's really up to personal preference.

    I use it for both but I'm pretty anal.

    This obviously only works when the shoe is pristinely new and you are the first person wearing/trying it on.

    Also, anyone here got a pair of these?

    I'm intrigued by them because they look similar enough to the Indy's, yet in a way, they don't.

    How narrow is the abeerden last? I really like this style, but I fear they are too narrow because of the last. [IMG]

    If it helps, the footprint of the Aberdeen last is almost exactly the same as Allen Edmond's #5 last (Park Avenue, Fifth Avenue, Strand, etc). I wear a 11.5D Strand and it fits very nicely. I bought a pair of the Ravello NSTs from Shoemart (not the boot, mind you) in 11.5D, and found they fit fairly similarly. They are slightly tighter in the toe box than my Strands, but actually much looser in the vamp and heel. They have very little arch support. When I laced them tightly, I had some slight tightness in the toe and they were still loose in the heel. I almost went down a size, but the tight toe box made me nervous.

    So at the suggestion of a friend at my local shoe repair shop, I added a thick felt tongue pad to each shoe, and now my foot sits perfectly in the shoes --- not so far forward that the toe box feels tight, and far enough back in the heel to eradicate any excessive looseness. After two weeks of wear, I find the shoes to be very comfortable.

    just looking at the kudu indys on the leather soul site and was just wondering how they differ to regular leather indys, in terms of;

    are they heavier, how easy are they to break in, does the leather colour change much through wear?

    thanks for any info

    I was proud of myself on being able to shut down my laptop without ordering them this morning, only to come online again and see these pics. Now me want them!

    Do you know how long/often they were born before they looked like the pictures?
