That is the most expensive sock liner I have ever seen! They must have used 24K gold to imprint it! Since the shoe probably retails around $600, that sock liner is worth around $1K! :bounce2:

Haha my thoughts exactly; these belong to my friend who lives in Tokyo. We hadn't talked about Alden's and I realized that his beat up PTBs were of the distinct shell material. I asked him what they were and to my surprise... they were Aldens! I was horrified at the price, he has two pairs one in black one in Color 8, both setting him back about $1,000 USD a pair. Pretty wild. It is no surprise he declined my offer to find him more Alden's... if I was paying $1,000 a pair... :embar:

^^^ it's Japan though, taxes bring up prices on everything. Alden's at $1000 is pretty standard for any nice imported shoe

Yeah that's true, I forgot about that. I think Beams had very standard Aldens for around $800 a pop...

Just out of morbid curiosity, how many pairs of shoes do you own? Excepting tennis, sandals and the like. I have around 15. Not counting the 5 or so that I'm trying to sell or give away! Just trying to decide if I'm nuts or that there are other nuts out there.

Question: Does the Plain Toe Indy come in brown, or any other color other than natural? Everywhere I've searched I can only find it in natural.
In my experience looking around, the plain toe indy seems rare compared to the stitched toe version. Can't say I know of a place to get any plain toe at all.

Shameless plug - LHS for sale in my sig.
