I

I think what he means is that if it is a retailer exclusive makeup, one that gets a retailer heel pad and doesn’t, then the generic heel pad indicates an FD. Otherwise, if it’s a standard offering like a 986 or 975 or something, then it’s going to get a plain old Alden heel pad even if it’s just fine.

Ha! Yeah, this makes sense. I just did a quick check on 5 special makes and with the exception of a pair from AoC, they all have the custom heel pads. I like the custom pads but they are kind of like getting the Horween stamp, nice when I get them and hardly notice when I don’t.

@Shawnc Anecdotally, I've seen this stamping on Anatomica make ups from Paris/Japan shops

Yup, makes sense to me. Appreciate the pic.

The last time I reached out to Anatomica Paris about ordering a pair they told me they only ship to EU countries. This was pre-COVID so I'm curious if they changed their stance.

Happy Monday forum pals. It's rainy and nasty outside, but comfy and dry inside.

Has anyone had luck converting a 270 welt to 360? I’ve come to the conclusion that I really just prefer the 360 welt, esp on aesthetically heavier boots like the Indy. I’d like to change my color 8 Indy’s on neocork to 360 double leather since no one seems to ever do that specific makeup. If I could just buy them that way I would, but it seems rare to find, if ever.

Nice, looks good. Big old heavy sole on those bad boys.

Can I ask if it changed the fit in any way?
I would say negligibly, yes. I blew these out for a few years prior to sending them in, so he completely disassembled them. They seem "snugged up" now but certainly not a different size or anything.

Does he always put his branding on the soles? Not that it's a big deal, but wondering if he could leave it off and make it look stock from the factory? Or is that something you have to specify?
