Funny, but my best friend is a counselor and lived in Minnesota, but she retired to Arizona...and has opened a practice there...Not really marriage, she worked for a place called Hazelton

You guys are a bad influence. I may have drooled at that milkshake Indy half a dozen times on Ealdwines site just in the last couple weeks. One time I added it to the cart before x’ing out of the screen.

The secret is to say...
Honey, look what I got on sale! Which is not a lie, exactly, as it's all for sale....

Oh she is fine, she was a lead counselor not a patient....

Oh I understood that! I’m talking about my wife probably being fine if she saw another boot box show up. Haha. Sorry about the confusion.

I’m kind of sold on the milkshake Indy. Don’t have anything like that. Although I’ve been burned before with off white suede. It had some blemishes that bugged the hell out of me until I got them professionally dyed by a good friend.

Milkshake suede can have "issues" but is so pretty....have the retailer review them before boxing. REFUSE any that are not up to your expectations....

Middle one looks best to me!

Yeah, charcoal & gray trousers were what i originally imagined wearing with those black shell Plaza slip-ons. (I got ‘em from B+M) However, while out at the opera a while back wearing the same donegal trousers, it occurred to me they might go better with jeans.

Maybe it’s the high shine, but I think that Donegal is the perfect foil for such gleaminess. Those shoes anchoring a pair of faded jeans would elicit a double take from me…

Keeping in mind that I am a sartorially challenged caveman and everything I say comes straight from the horse’s ass.

does anyone wear insoles with their aldens? My indys are giving me a lot of arch problems and i don't think the arch/heel pad is helping, i feel like it makes it worse. I can't stand in them for a long time otherwise my feet starts to ache. I often switch back to my new balance sneakers at work.

Not sure if it's a bigger biomechanic issue or i just can't wear aldens for long periods of time.

I have to wear orthotics with my TB and Barrie lasted footwear, at one point didn't have to, but do now, of course the addition of the orthotics makes them tight across the top, so get discomfort there. I'm NOT going to buy all new boots at my age. Maybe sell a few and buy one or two, but that's it, honest.

@mr.invincible

I wear custom Rx orthotics in all of my Aldens. I get the ones made for dress shoes so they're not too bulky. My feet are insanely flat. I used to take the heel pad out of my Alden shoes, but it was more for giving my orthotics more space than for comfort.

If you're having arch pains, it's possible that the TB last may not fit your feet well, or you may possibly need orthotics to help you out.

I have the opposite problem - when I wear sneakers, even with my orthotics, my feet and ankles ache after a while. Boots give me the ultimate support and comfort.

I wear a suede topped memory foam full flat insole and it’s a plush ride my friend. I have high arches so the thinner waisted lasts like Plaza fit the best. You may want to go orthotic on the fuller lasts like Barrie/TB though.
