A less than 5 minute tune up. Left the laces in. Damp wipe down. Let dry and brush. Apply VSC to vamp and apron. Let dry and brush. Quick once over with a cloth.

I have never had a pair of full strap penny loafers, these just arrived from our good friends in Raleigh. Excuse the Frank Lloyd Wright socks. That's not a loose thread on the one shoe, its a freakin' Golden Retriever hair. Can't walk 3 feet.....and I vacuum 3 times a day

First pair of Alden’s, first pair of shell! Finally wore them outside of the house after agonizing about fit for fear of getting it wrong (already had to eBay a pair of calfskin Chelsea boots I mis-judged). Let’s hope I actually got it right and dont learn my true size the hard way.

Hi Alden Bros, have you had any issues with TSA lines and steel shanked shoes/boots? I intend to take a pair for a quick in/out trip where I want to pack light, without additional shoes. Of course I'd intend to do the usual take shoes off and let them go through the x-ray.

I just completed a trip and my Alden set off the alarm in TSA line both ways. Took them off and ran them through the scanner.

I've had LOTS of penny loafers, from a couple of companies (most from AE) over the years, but never a full strap. @mdubs and a few others post photos of full strap, and they just looked so good, I decided to get a pair. Like the Aberdeen last and the leather (although not shell). I think they will be good once loafer season gets here again.
