I found these New old stock alligator Chesters from Allen Edmonds. Made in 2004. Totally off topic, but I wanted to share. So this raises the question: Did/does Alden use any exotic leathers? I have only see calf, suede and shell.

Someone shared an old ad for Alden alligator shoes. I believe they were tassel loafers and came in blue and black. I believe the price was around $60 - about twice the price for the calfskin. I want to say it was @kleinbrett on instagram.
