Apart from being my first Alden and first shell, I like the more sleek plaza last (even if it is JUST wide enough).Beautiful!
If you don't mind my asking, why is the Atom your favorite Alden shoe?
Beautiful morning...I miss running. I plan to get back into it soon.6 am trail run sunrise. More grain.

I'm comfortable on single soles, but then I grew up barefoot or birkenstocks. I do appreciate double and commando, though I prefer leather of either thickness over rubber.Maybe I’m the minority but I really enjoy a double sole or commando sole. Do you find the single as comfortable on a long day?
Haha! You should see my spreadsheet. Apart from tracking last, color, material, style, etc, it tracks total wears and days since last wear. That moment when you have to calendar what shoes you're wearing on what day to make sure they all get in on the rotation...
Looks like your keeping the grains?? if they were a size smaller would have picked them up.6 am trail run sunrise. More grain.

The ram medallion is my favorite, and I prefer caps to wings.
Despite me preferring closed lacing, these bluchers have a seldom seen balmoral line that turns up at the heel.
Plus, they're on a leather sole with a 270 welt.
I've got other pairs I really like as well, but they're just such an interesting shoe with many details to take in by just staring at them.

Interesting, thanks for that. I had never looked closely at the Atom, as I have 3 Strands, 1 in shell, so I assumed that the Atom would overlap the Strands. I'll look at the Atom closely, as I do agree with you about that medallion.Apart from being my first Alden and first shell, I like the more sleek plaza last (even if it is JUST wide enough).

Now to google 'balmoral line!'
