1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

There is a place in Cameron Village that has several styles, mainly loafers, but seems likea couple other styles. I'll have to look up the others. Been a while, but ask were old-school men's shops.

It really surprises me that we don't have at least an AE store in this area.

I wear my Alden boots this summer as we speak for work. Of course I rotate with another pair. But my Alden boots are nice and cool, and stay very dry 100% of the time. My pair of Wolverine 1000 miles will get a little hot with a little humidity inside them. I think it has alot to do with there tounge being webbed and attached to seal water out. But it is amazing how cool and dry my Alden Michigan Epaulet Innsbruck's stay . Even after 10 hours outside

I was mainly just giving you a hard time. The McNeil is a good looking LWB. I was serious about not finding a size that feels comfortable. I have never had the chance to try on the grant lasted LWB. BBBF had a run of black shell LWBs on grant about 4-5 years ago (or longer). Many here spoke highly of them.

You certainly have the right to prefer the McNeil. Who am I to chastise you for it. I can understand not being crazy about the barrie last. I like the barrie last mainly for its comfort. To each his own....

Saz, your Color 8 WT Boots are looking superb bud! I hope that they took good care of you today!

One of my favorite models Don! I love my pair and actually wore out the heal on them.

Hah. Fun to see this debate here. We all have our preferences, I personally prefer the Alden treatment of the Shell and the added substantial feeling they have, but again preferences are in the eye of the beholder.

Those AF2's are looking absolutely stunning on you today.

Welcome aboard here bud! That's a great question and frankly I am not 100% sure either. I have only worn mine 2-3 times since I got them and just buffed them between wearings.

For me, it depends on what you want to do with the boots...
If I were deciding what regimen to perform, I would look at how I want them to look in 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, etc etc...

Do Nothing - if you want to show some patina more quickly
Brush only - if you want them to show patina but keep them cleaner looking.
Reno and brush - if you want to clean them and give them a little shine (looking more pristine longer)
Reno and Neutral creme - if you want lots of shine
Reno and colored creme - if you want to modify the color yourself over time (including artificial patina), with lots of shine.

None of which is the wrong answer.
If it were me, I would Brush only, with Reno once in a great while.

With country calf I normally do nothing when new.

Actually the only shoes I touch when new are crust leathers where the finish is applied by hand. I always add a coat of wax for protection.

TSM is switching systems. It's likely that they are canceling your old order in the old system and placing it into the new system.

Switching systems. All back orders (pre orders) are getting a new order #. TSM sent out a pre-cancellation explanation email yesterday.

Fitting question. Which shoe would fit larger?

NST, Aberdeen last 11 EEE/E in calf
NST, Aberdeen last, 12 D/B in shell

Yeah, I know, it can be argued in multiple ways. What say you?

I have posted this multiple times...
I would ignore the calf versus shell for this comparison.
    The 12D is 1/3" longer
    The 11EEE is 7/16 wider

Sam Altman is the president of Y Combinator, one of the biggest venture capital funds in the US. Y Combinator has backed Airbnb, Dropbox, Zenefits and Stripe. Altman was recently in Lindon for a series of meetings, one of which was at the Ritz. The Ritz has a strict dress code that states, "Gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie ... trainers and sportswear are not permitted in any of the hotel or Club’s restaurants or bars."

Sam later tweeted "To be totally clear on this Ritz thing: I fully support their right to enforce a dress code, and my right to wear cool shoes."

Many commenters concluded this only proved London was not "tech friendly." I have concluded there are just some locations where worn jeans and "cool shoes" are simply not appropriate, especially when he can clearly afford to buy a descent pair of appropriate shoes and slacks. Ugly American indeed. Someone needs to point this goober to the Alden of SF store.
