Wish they were Black, for me current offerings of #8 are to dark for some casual combinations and not black for formal wear, otherwise I will be all over those.

Totally understand the concern. I've picked up several color 8 Aldens from the past few years, while the color is certainly darker, it does lighten with wear and sun exposure. IMHO the color 8 shade in general, even in its lighter days, is fine for formal wear. The black edge and sleek plaza last with a flat edge in this design will really make the boot even more appropriate for formal wear.

I saw a pair of 405's the other day and was shocked. We really are outliers in men's footwear.
