when Edward Sexton was visiting they used L&S Custom Tailors on 138 E 61st Street to tweak my MTO jacket (it was a very simple sleeve adjustment though)

I have used them a few times.

They're fine but I've had a few issues with them. One pair of trousers they took in the waist instead of letting them out. I've had to have them re-hem several trousers after getting the length wrong. The end result has always been fine, but just took a bit of annoying work to get there.

For what it's worth the staff in Brooklyn is very nice!
Ah. I was planning on going to them to take in and hem some pants but now Im unsure. They talk a big game tho. Prices are kindaaa pricey but I haven't had any work done in a few years so idk where things have gone given how EVERYTHING is expensive now.

I really don't post here, but since I saw references to L&S, for what it's worth that's where I've been taking everything for the past 4-5 years and I've been very happy. Probably not the cheapest, but very reliable, and they seem to be knowledgeable. I've taken in a 70's era Tommy Nutter tuxedo, and one of the older guys on staff was thrilled as he said he was friends with Edward Sexton, who was going to visit soon (obviously before Edward passed away). Sometimes I consider trying the Tailoring Room, but if I'm happy with L&S why change?

ah so it's an old relationship, back then I was wondering how did Nina end up picking there

edit: also good to know I have another close spot besides Wazin (Wazin is close to work, this is close to home, so kind perfect)

Sorry, if this has been asked before,

I start a new position next Monday and need three pants hemmed and cuffed. They’re pretty expensive pants and was wondering if anyone knew of a tailor in Brooklyn that wasn’t supper expensive

I've seen some folks recommend Beckemberg's Alteration Shop and Kingbridge - although I have not used either.

Alts is another option but I've needed them to re-do some stuff they messed up (all worked out in the end, but just an annoying extra trip).

Hemming and cuffing pants is not a complicated job in my experience. I have had any number of good pants done by my local dry cleaners with no issues. Brooklyn is a big place. There is Ercole's that will do a good job if you would rather go to a "real" tailor

Just got these two suits back from Brooks Brothers in Rockefeller Plaza and noticed these ripples on my shoulders. I was told it’s because my shoulders are high/squared on this site and that they could be fixed with a good tailor.

Can anyone recommend me a tailor that can do this? Any idea how much this would cost?

Did you have these jackets altered? What was done?
Difficult to diagnose what the issue might be from these pictures.
Have to determine if it’s the way the shoulder is cut, construction or how the jacket fits.
Common issue is not enough back width across the shoulder area and this constricts the area and causes the shoulder to twist. This creates the convex appearance.
Could be one of these factors or a combination of them.

Yeah these were brand new OTR and I had them altered. This is the work that was done on each according to the tags attached

They didn‘t alter the collar or shoulder so it’s inherent to the original jacket. They can correct it if they diagnose the cause properly and have the know how to fix it. This isn’t a simple alteration.
BB might not be the optimal brand for your body type.
For the future, try as many brands as possible and see the different shoulder expressions. Your looking for a jacket that sits best on your shoulder without requiring adjustment.

Anyone have data points on pricing for shortening sleeves and letting out the waist of a jacket?
