Personally, I prefer the old names. The new system would be okay if the Hudson and Havana were the same, but they are not. Details notwithstanding, it's a much less boxy silhouette. I greatly prefer it. It's a pity they don't produce many of them anymore.
I prefer the old nomenclature, too. Maybe it’s because I’ve been a customer for a few years and was comfortable with the familiar names.

i'm glad there is internet access in SK, however you haven't come to terms with your original point. Too bad tho....a loyal customer like yourself shouldn't be so confused about fit just because SuSu offers different pockets and lapel widths.

Enjoy!
Thank you for the support, even if your tone comes across as mocking. My original point is in my posting, isn’t it?

This: I liked it when a Havana suit had certain details. You tell me you prefer the new way. That’s valid, too.

Is there a consensus opinion on which NYC SuitSupply store is the best for a fitting/customer service?

Apologies if this has been asked many times -- unearthing old posts in this thread is...difficult.

I frequently shop at both locations and I asked around before deciding to go with Gina at Soho. I think she is the most experienced and definitely has a lot of returning clients.

I read your post too quickly. Not sure if you're looking for made to measure, but Gina is a made to measure specialist.

That's good to know. Unfortunately, I won't have time for MTM for this purchase, but I'll keep it in mind for next time. Is the Bloomingdale's branch well-staffed?

The bloomingdale location is very small and limited in selection. I passed by twice and both times I remember seeing 2 reps available.

Anyone that has done MTM/Suit up and can provide some insights into the range of heavy fabrics(14oz+) that are availablefor suiting or jacketing?

I have. What’s your location? They carry different books based on location. In LA, the options are plenty but can’t compare to say NYC, which carries more books like holland & sherry, drapers, etc.

I'm in Germany. I was just wondering what kind of fabrics in that weight range are available and how the finished garment turned out for you.

They do have plenty heavy weight fabrics in tweed, flannel and heavy worsted. So you have plenty of options. In terms of the final product, it's definitely stellar for the price you are paying (compare to other brands 3x the price (read Zegna mainline, not talking about hunting for sales/ebay, etc.).

The fit depends on the MTM specialist you are dealing with, some are very experienced, some are not, but in general, at the end of the day you won't have to pay unless you are 100% satisfied. The second fitting & alteration after your suit arrives is also free.

The overall product quality is a level higher than Jort & La Spalla (full canvass, handstitched collar, milanese buttonholes), plus you can have all the customizations you want, as crazy as you want.

If you just opt for the entry level fabrics, it should be about the same price as Jort & La Spalla. If you opt for fancy fabrics, the price will be higher but still worth it if you are looking for a fully customized, no compromise suit.

I have done 2 MTM jobs with the LA location, and the turnarounds are fast. 4-5 weeks on average. So if you don't mind the price tag. It's definitely a good experience.

Isn't there a Brookfield mall location too?
