I have a question for you guys. Recently bought a pair of Vigo pants and I have to go pick them up from the store.

Would you guys reccomend tailoring them somewhere besides the store?

My friend recently got a pair of Vigos and hated their tailoring job.

He hemmed and slimmed them. Anyone here tailor their Vigos with some advice?
I would suggest getting ss pants tailored from the store. I have never been disappointed with the tailoring they do. one thing to lookout for, is the the fit advice that the ss salesmen provide is usually geared towards slimmer fits( or At least used to be, I think they are moving towards fuller cuts now).

Was looking to buy white cotton trousers only to discover they are dry clean only. Not sure why. Also, pretty bad choice for a white trousers (not a part of the suit).

What's the worst it can happen?

I just checked their website and it's ridiculous how many things they have listed as dry clean only. Imagine turning up at the dry cleaners with your cotton cargo shorts.

In other words, I would have no problem throwing those in the washing machine. They're just cotton trousers.

Is there any chance they might open their online outlet this winter?
From what I’ve been told by SS employees and managers, not a chance in hell.

During COVID , they switched their business model. Now they do staples and limited drops with less inventory so there is no need for an outlet to sell off excess.

And it also looks like they ended their partnership with Nordstrom here in the US. Sometimes you used to see price drops on Suitsupply stuff on Nordy's website, but it looks like now that's also over.

P. S. I swear I don't shop Nordstrom hardly ever, so I don't know where the cute nickname came from

I wonder if there is still that one physical outlet in the Netherlands that us, mere mortals can get into? It'd be like Disneyland for us

There are SS stores in third-party designer outlets such as Lelystad (Amsterdam), Roosendaal and Messancy (Belgium).

I’ve noticed that in this “new” model that they’ve also stopped making pieces with bolder and more unique fabrics imo, which is what I was drawn to in this company in the first place. Maybe they had mixed results in sales but I look at their releases over the past couple years since and feel most of their products are pretty boring. Especially with the price hikes and no sales, it’s driven me to rarely consider them. It’s sad because I was able to get some really incredible suits/pieces at a very reasonable price with the outlets.

I like your take on this and the observations. The Jort line was always the highlight for me each season because it's the one line that featured the most daring pieces. But you are right, I haven't seen much like that lately.

I have to admit that this company has changed and also that it's been willing to change and adapt to, apparently, what many of the customers wanted. One of these things was looser pant fit that they finally delivered on (many of the people on here through the years stated that they would never consider the SS suit because of how tight the trousers were, but they were here for the blazers), and now I'm seeing the Roma fit is supposed to be the looser fit after Napoli was discontinued? I haven't bought much in the last couple years, so correct me if I'm wrong, anybody?

They changed their approach to more italian style details, and they offer more of high quality fabrics and weaves besides their standard VBC offerings OTR. So the Roma for example is more of an italian fit. The Napoli was more for worsted wool suit and didn't work on more relaxed and casual approaches, because it was also more conservative. But it made sense back then, because they were pushing suits. Now they are pushing "elevated casual style", as you can see on their products that go way beyond suits.
That's at least how they want to justify their hefty price increases on almost all items they sell. Only the "basic" suits are still a good bang for the buck, and unchallgened (379€ for a basic navy suit is great). For the rest I am not really keen to pull the trigger quite that often nowadays.

surely someone else has also suffered from this, but I’m planning on getting my wedding tuxedo MTM (or custom, whatever they call it these days) and have come up short trying to find a nice butterfly bow tie and cummerbund to match the grosgrain lapels. I would have thought Suitsupply would have sold a set to match, but apparently not. Has anyone gone down this same rabbit hole and can suggest a matching pair? Preferably within the EU
