Being as I HATE coffee with a passion, the only thing I ever get at starbucks is odwalla superfood (the green puke looking stuff. gods gift to man, in my opinion). We have a 24hr starbucks over here as well I'm sure every one else does so when my friends and I get bored at what ever time in the night we make the trip out there, get what ever beverage or snack we want, and hang out. It's a lot nicer in the summer because they have tables and chairs outside. I also have never understood why there is a star bucks on every corner. Down the road from my high school there's a 'shopping complex' if you will with different stores like albertsons, GNC, blockbuster, baskin robins, and so on, and there's also a star bucks right next to the baskin robbins. about a 30 second walk to the right inside the albertsons is...of course...a starbucks. makes no sense to me but what ever.

Add one more to that total.... We just found out who the first tenant is on Melville and Bute in the new Coal Harbour shopping area.

I'm not a coffee conneisseur(sp?), I don't mind Starbucks. And yeah, I'd rather get espresso's straight than pussified in an Americano. One time I ordered an Iced Coffee, but they didn't have any so they offered me Iced Americano instead, bleh.
Maybe someone here can tell me the proper way to make iced coffee but I don't think it should come from a jug in the fridge. It should be espresso over ice?

Order an Americano. It costs about $0.20 more than drip and tastes about 200 times better. It's also made fresh for you, unlike drip which just sits in the pot. For those of you who don't know what an Americano is, it's just espresso plus water. No milk or nasty sugary stuff. I get my Americanos with extra room (i.e. less water) because I like strong coffee.

The Americano used to be my strategy, but unfortunately this puts you in the 'bar' waiting line w/ everyone who's ordered a caramel mocha frappacino or a double-whip-no -foam latte. The wait in interminable. I just get a drip & go...

hmm i'm looking online, I dont see any recipes other than brewing it in advance and chilling it in the fridge. I usually brew it hot, extra strong and pour it over ice. But I like mine kinda watered down so that works for me.

The way I do it: get an espresso lungo + a glass full of ice cubes. Sweeten the espresso to your taste. Pour over the ice in the glass. Swirl the glass a few times. Drink. You have to make sure there is enough ice in the glass as the espresso will melt a lot of it

^^^ Yes. Extra strong. Since I use three tablespoons per cup, I increase to six, for ice coffee. Also, I add a tablespoon of coffee liqueur. Mmmmmmmmm . . . delicious. I let the coffee cool, before pouring over ice.

My wife switches to iced coffee as soon as the temperature rises above 70. This is the recipe she loves. She prefers mocha so we start with a generous shot of chocolate into an ice tea glass followed by 4 shots of espresso (she has a severe caffeine jones). Fill the glass with ice and top with cold milk. Not a chocoholic? Substitute simple syrup to taste.

tonylumpkin, why not add some chocolate or coffee liqueur?? Makes all the difference. Gives your iced coffee a real, kick!

btw: my grandfather emigrated to the U.S. from the Greek isle of Kalymnos. His coffee was the strongest I have ever consumed. He'd perk it for half an hour, until it was thick as tar . . . and ALWAYS added a little . . . alcohol, for good measure.

To all these questions:

Is my car gay?
Am I gay?
Is Starbucks good?
Are Lobbs better than Vass?
What movie are you dying to see?
Is GWB a mass murderer?
Should I pull the trigger on this [fill in the blank] on e-bay?

The answer is:

Go to France. Spend a couple weeks. We'll talk after that.

Why do I think this would raise far more questions than it would answer?
