(T4phage @ 02 July 2004, 12:53) marc37: what's up with your Prada bootlets (in your signature)? Â I've checked them out (it's on sale now) - not very nice.
They aren't Prada, their Gucci. They look like a nice boot; pity they weren't better made. l hear Gucci sell pretty good be-spoke shoes at their flagship store in New York City. l have found the prada and gucci website photos look alot better than what the shoes actually are. They look gr8 on the website but when you see them in person, they are disapointing.
Well then Prada makes an exact copy of that shoe. btw. why do you like being "anonymous"?

I'll have a look out of sheer curiosity, but these aren't 'my cup of tea'. At all. MtB *Edit* And besides, I believe they wouldn't combine nicely with my boater [IMG]

Well, since I'll be in the neighbourhood, I'll have a look. Sales are always nice. I just hope they haven't put those boots I recently bought on sale... MtB

Oh, the loafers were not on sale (new collection) [IMG] . I did not see your boots on sale either. One thing, you mentioned in a previous post that you were looking for a good walking boot. Well, they do have a Heschung boot on sale. I personally don't like Heschung but others on the forum do. Give it a go. For about Euro 180 or less, you can't really go wrong.

Shame about the loafers, but PHEW am I glad about the boots, that alone would have spoiled my weekend. I'll have a look at the Heschungs. Pricewise they're at the point I was looking at. I believe I mentioned Van Bommels and Van Liers as other options? (But only if I can find them in a narrower last.) I'd also like to have a look around in Maastricht before I buy. I may miss out on a great deal, but so be it. MtB

I'd better have a GOOD look at the Heschungs then. Any other suggestions, in which I could go stappen with my friends when I've returned? I'm looking for something I don't have to fret about when someone stands on them or a much worse disaster befalls them. They would be a standby/alternative for my (dare I say it) Manfields bootschoenen. There, I said it. MtB.

Some Fratelli Rossettis, maybe Sergio Rossis? They have a few on sale at Eriks. At the very end of the sales, the shoes get pretty cheap at Klijsens and Eriks, 75% off (or Euro 125, whatever is higher) at Klijsens.

They're not, I hope. I just use them as casual shoes for weekends with jeans or chino's, when I don't need to wear my Church or EG shoes. And the one pair of AE white bucks I have isn't quite right to wear to a pub, so they fill a part of my shoe wardrobe quite nicely.
Great, I can go to Maastricht and return to find the prices even lower than when I left  [IMG] MtB

Well, you're the scientist [IMG] . Actually, I won't go to Maastricht for another two weeks, so in that time I can look around in The Hague, then go to Maastricht and look around there. If there isn't anything that interests me there I'll buy in The Hague, where, by then, the prices will have dropped to the lower levels [IMG] . I'll let you know about the goodies, if any.

I'm not that type of scientist. [IMG] Physicists (sic?) are a really odd lot. Not down to earth like we molecular biologists [IMG] . Well, for an Incotex fix, go to Pauw in Amsterdam - they have some pretty nice ones, also their Lattanzis. Oh, Oger in Amsterdam also carries some Lattanzis. Btw, you mentioned that you live near Hardies - anything good? How about thier Lidforts? Yes, they do cater for a much older clientele, but they do have some nice pieces. And their sales on Ferragamo shoes is not to shabby (sometimes starting at Euro 75).

You should go inside definitely. They had a beautiful wholecut Lidfort last time I looked. Unfortunately, most of the other Lidforts were blake lasted. btw. we really shouldbe working [IMG] .

OK, OK, I'll go. Sheesh. [IMG] The brioni's alone would be worth the visit I think. And yes, we really ought to be working. So? [IMG] MtB

Yes, work, what is that especially now with the weather "improving" and Wimbledon on our lab T.V [IMG] Have you gone to Carlo Mode in Kijkduin? As for Brioni's I've seen some on sale at Society shop in Amsterdam for Euro 1000.

You have T.V. in your lab? Where did you say you worked, again? Is there an opening for an accounting type with experience in criminal investigations? [IMG] Â O wait, I like my job too much. Are the Brioni's for real? Although, I remember seeing a Borrelli suit for somewhere in the neighbourhood of EUR 1100,= on sale (not the current sale, though) at Oger's in The Hague, so it could be. Sadly, it wasn't my size. MtB

One of the benefits of being the head. [IMG] Ooohh you accounting types..... all you want is to curb required spending for equipment, reagents, shoes, shirts, suits...... [IMG]
Yes, for real. I've seen some Borrellis for the prices you mentioned too. Strangely, they don't mark Isaia down as much?

Perhaps I should ask my cousin then, about the time/sales warp. She studied to be a theoretical physicist and wrote her masters thesis on the direction(s?) of time flow. When I asked about it, she lost me about two seconds into her explanation. [IMG] Now, she works as Frau Antje, promoting cheese in Germany. [IMG] So, odd lot indeed. MtB
