So if I buy a Soviet Military Jeep, what color should I paint it?

Being the good little communist that I am, I'm giving some serious thought to buying a Russian ex-military jeep, kinda like this one:

I can pick one up for around $1500, so, in the interests of flamboyant attention seeking, what color should I paint it?

Purple and orange are out (have motorbikes in those colors), as is full army camo (did that with the Honda Chaly before the rally), so what do you guys think?

Maybe a very loud blue with chrome wheels?

Dude you crack me up.

I say go for a really absurdly classic color, like sea foam with a cream soft top. And yeah, lots of chrome.

Get hold of some colourful vinyl seat covering, and have the seats reupholstered. Then paint the car according to colour scheme. Shouldn't cost much in Saigon to have the seats (and maybe dashboard, insides of doors, etc. etc) reupholstered, I assume?

Okay, so I'm thinking:

Gold;

Kind of a royal blue;

Happy fun time turquoise;

Pink;

Black with flames down the side;

Black with squinting David Bresch down the side;

Black with obligatory Machiavelli down the side:

Black with billionaire steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal down the side;

Or maybe red.

EDIT: Actually, in retrospect maybe red is stupid.

I sort of wish I had been around (and had the money) when the soviet union collapsed and arms dealers started selling-off all their military hardware.

I went to boarding school with a russian kid that had pictures of himself playing around in a tank and firing AK-47s ;p

None of those available, huh? Imagine how much fun you could have with your own tank!

^^^That's true Matt, and then you could roll like I do.

I vote for sea foam, and then Bresch.

I don't think you can have a black jeep with Machiavelli during the daytime.

I would suggest a lighter blue, as in this family:

Or, my favorite, this:

I would probably either chrome out the grill of the jeep or paint it in a different color than the body. You could do some really nifty things. You should totally go for it if the gas price wouldn't kill you (what is that thing - 4 mpg?)

How about a nice trad-dog-bed-blanket plaid?
