I own three regular wearers. Of the three, the SMP gets the most wrist time.

No, it has a ETA automatic mvmt converted to handwinding by Laco. How the watch came about is kind of a long story, spelled out in this pdf if you're interested.

Laco currently makes a very similar watch in 42mm (quartz), 42mm (automatic), or 45mm (handwind) version.

I really want one of those Aqua Terras, but I've already got 3 Omegas, two of which I hardly ever wear. I have a burning desire for an AT and a Speedy Pro, though.

GF has 2500 saved up for a watch for me. She gets a fancy engagement ring and she thought it would be nice to get me a fancy-shmancy watch. I really like the look of the 42mm Planet Ocean but I'm not sure it would be really practical. She said she'd save for whatever I wanted (within reason) and I'm leaning towards an Explorer I (can be worn on natos or steel). Basically something to last longer than I do that I can give to my probably useless and lazy grandkids.

Really like it. It has a great sporty look... that obviously isn't for everyone. But it works great for casual weekend wear. And the gas tubes are freaking cool in low light.

love that Aqua Terra...I want that watch in 39mm on a black leather strap...the perfect watch for all occasions. I have a 2254.50 that I've been wearing for 5 years and I like it a lot, but I'm getting a little tired of the diver look.
