I think I am definitely in for this. I will send an email, as well. I really hope you garner enough interest to hold the class.

if i lived in nyc, i think this would be an excellent in town vacation/holiday. to think you would have a pair of welted shoes by the end of the week that you did yourself is pretty exciting.

Here is a pair that Jesse a New York student of mine, finished in my shop today. The leather is crust reindeer with marks from bugs and hard life up North in Sweden. The waist is beveled and the sole is stitched 8 spi. Jesse entered the course Marcel and I arranged in Hara and she has stayed with me for two weeks and one more before the trip back home. She is now working on a pair of elastic side boots. Jesse had never crimped vamps before and ask for a course which would cover that topic

+1, but I'm still interested. Marcell, given the cost, a new question arises for me. Will I be able to make my own shoes after having taken this course? In otherwords, how does this experience look from the standpoint of return on investment?

If you want return on investment, you should look into whether you can sell shoes to aportnoy after this course...

You will be able to make shoes with cemented technology after the first week, and a very special (as I won't use ANY synthetic glue for it) pegged one after the second one. If you want to became a really skilled shoemaker, you have to spend more time in a workshop, learning plenty of technics, trick, rules..etc from masters, and practice, practice a lot.. But as the Chinese say: every big trip starts with a small step.

Unfortunately the student who booked October apprenticeship cancelled. So, I still have some free time in autumn to recieve apprentices in my workshop: 2 week terms: 29th of September - 10th of October 13rd of October - 24th of October I think for shorter terms it doesn't worth to come to Hungary, but if someone has different demands, no problem. We still have places for the NY courses (see above). The students will make one pair in every week, with the chosen technology (cemented, welted, etc..). Materials, tools are provided.
