I just got these back from the New York Berluti store today. They were so trashed I actually considered giving them away. They refinished them and did an amazing job didn't they?

I actually like the style. The refinishing is good, although it has that slightly plasticky gleam to it which makes me fear that perfection is not going to last after an hour's wear.

Cobbler had a small sale on discontinued models today when I walked by so I got lured in. Picked up these C&J Fosse for half price. Pebble grain, rubber sole and a warm n fuzzy interior that should keep me warm during the (hopefully) cold winter months.

My pilgrimage to Northampton:

Northampton Museum, admission is free.

More than half of exhibition space was devoted to shoe-making and related subjects. The exhibit explained the shoe-making process form start to fininsh and there're all kind of machines and tools on display.

That's just incredible stuff. If I were sans girlfriend and in London, I would seriously book an overnight stay in Northampton to check out the museum and different factory shops. As sad as that sounds.
