You could try making it yourself. My girlfriend made it a few weeks back with pretty good result. I've also had it at Blaue Gans in Tribeca. Thanks for the pics gshen!

Awesome pics. None of them look nearly as blobby as most of the Hungarian shoes I've seen before. From the angles posted, they all seem sleeker.

Loving the gloves too. Sharp!

Halfway through the schnitzel, it became more of a challenge to finish it.. and yes I conquered it!! (there were 2 ladies beside me who seemed to have no trouble finishing it, so i didn't want to look bad

) Did not have the opportunity to try Plachutta..maybe next time!

Plachutta is nice, especially the branch in the wollzeile.

imo, the best tafelspitz is served at "renner am nussdorfer platzl"

and "schwarzes kameel" is a must on every trip to vienna.

I have Vass's book and although I do love the quality and craftsmanship, I prefer the sleeker lasts from their neighbors the Italians. Many of the shoes posted above look perfect to me shape wise. But I have seen many styles they turn out where the toe box just looks disproportionally large to my eyes.

It's just a personal preference and if I didn't have such large feet, I'd warm up to these more. Not that I could afford them anyway, I'm too small time.

don't take offense, but a book is not a substitute for seeing them in real life.

Ahh. I did not pay attention to the boots, but the catalogue did have loads more boots than shoes. I cannot speak for the quality of boots, but the leathers used on the shoes were certainly not the best.

+1. Even the chunkier looking lasts like the peters and budapest look alot sleeker in person compared to pictures I've seen. Maybe I'm biased, but the F and U lasts are as sleek as i'd like them to be..

Maßschuhe (bespoke?) : 450E
Holzgenagelta: 258E
Goodyear: 168E
Handmade belts: 64E
