I have both of these so I may be able to answer your questions. The 9042 has a sleeker (lower profile) toebox. The 8052 are a little more rugged and bulbous while the 9042 is slightly dressier. The leather on the 9042 is a little more matte whereas the 9042 is a touch shinier. The leather will wear pretty similarly. I wear the same size in both. Personally, I prefer the 8052 because I like the neoprene cork sole. Buy them both!

Thanks for your answer. What do you think about the size, are they equal?
My local store only have the 8052 in store, the other one has to be ordered to the store specially for me.

Yes, sizing runs the same for both. Size down .5 from your TTS size like most Red Wings.

Just scored some factory seconds 875 in oro-iginal from ebay for $129 shipped! No apparent damage or imperfections at all, just some dust on the shoes. Not sure if they are still available, but they are a steal for that price.

I picked up some Red Wing Chukkas for £90 - a bargain. However, they are about half a size too short: when I stand my toes touch the end of the boot.

I am thinking about using some shoe stretchers to increase the length/stretch of the leather by a few mm. Would this work?

Hi,

You can stretch for width not length.

Hello? Can someone answer my question? I'll quote MYSELF so more people see it, shall I? Douchebags.

On behalf of the styleforum douchebags, I apologize for not having your post replied to faster. We take helping people very seriously around here, and the (lack of) behavior is simply unacceptable. To make it up for you, I'd like to award you with a FREE $150 gift certificate towards your next Red Wing purchase, valid at any authorized Red Wing retailer.

Hi guys, just bought some Red Wing 875's from redwingshoes.com.au via the web.

I faxed them tracings of my feet (AWESOME!), and they recommended a 10EE, but since I have a gut feeling my feet are deceptively large I went the 10.5EE.

I normally wear 12 US which are sometimes too big, sometimes too small. I don't know with shoes.

So considering the down sizing and extra width I'll be packing, these will fit me...

Anyway, hopefully they arrive tomorrow and I can try them on and they work out. Will post pictures when I get them.

I normally wear a 12 in Nikes or Vans and my Iron rangers are a 10.5 EE. You should be cool.
