No matter what you wear the boots need some time to break in. After the break in period is all down hill. Put them on half day then wear something else for the rest of the day. You might need a couple of weeks before you can wear them all day long. You can apply some oil to the leather as an other option, is what I do every time I get a new pair.

thanks for the jcrew tip! ;)

i wore my new 9075 moc toe yesterday, and i found that its more comfy than the brand new iron ranger brogue chaparral.i guess its cause the crepe sole vs the rubber sole of the iron ranger.

I actually just picked up some 8131's a few days ago from the local Red Wing store. I had called the Red Wing store to ask if there was a big difference between the 9106 (Copper Worksmith) and the 8131 (Oro Russet) color. I wanted the Oro Russet, but I had seen on line that it wasn't a US color, only available in Europe and Japan so I thought I might not have the option and that I might have to get the 9106 instead. The store employee informed me that oddly enough they had just gotten a shipment of the Oro Russet because of some special promotion and that they were even having some crazy sale on them. They were on sale for $199, which was a hell of a lot better than the $349 European price tag! This was just a few days ago, I'm sure they're still on sale. They're the exact same as the 8875's, I think the only difference is that the 8131 model number is the designation for Europe and the 8875 is the model designation for Japan. They're both Oro Russet. For the last two years I've been wearing my 8130's (same boot only in black) almost daily and loved the boots, but was tired of the color. I put em up for sale on the net and they actually sold for more than what my brand new 8131's cost me!

Here's my trusty 8130's, before they found their new home:
