I found SF while searching for red Levi's 510s, and joined to make a thread to ask what to wear them with.
There was no small questions thread then, damnit!

I found SF through a Google search for a used tux. I registered to PM the seller. Ended up not buying it. I kept coming back because none of my friends were really into clothes and there was only so much I could read on men.style.com. I should've lurked longer before I started posting, but you learn as you go.

lookin for some DIY advice.

I want to chop the sleeves off this thing and attach it to a very minimal wool body or something. The idea being that then I can layer it underneath my vests, or any other jacket that I chop the sleeves off of. Any suggestions for garments I could possibly thrift that would act as a subtle body for the leather sleeves?

I was thinking something like melton wool, but I'm not sure. it should probably have no collar, or a moto collar at the most. something thin enough to layer under a chosen garment.

That's nuts (even though it is cashmere). The cotton crewneck versions are ~1/8 the price on Allevol. I am going to go out on a limb here and blame JP beasting on the eventual death of Inverallan.

In other news, I hate it when something I want from two seasons ago sits on a web shop, never to go on sale.

The new Forward site is such a mess. Zero results coming up when you click on the sale section or brand name when on a specific item page. It's also irritating how you're directed to the women's clothing if you click on any of the tabs, even when you're looking at something in the men's section.

I found Style Forum after I wandered over from /fa/ on 4chan. Of course I found /fa/ from /fit/ and I found /fit/ from /b/.

In short I'm here because of 4Chan.

I would have never guessed that from your avatar.

Stupid question but what kind of guy are you for asking for postman oxfords?

Oh. Hahaha...probably just someone consciously interested in fashion, rather than the type of guy the walk-in stores are equipped to service (ie someone who needs a pair of steel toes in a hurry, because he's working in his work wear, or because his new job requires it). I thought the postmans, at least, would be a safe bet, but apparently not. They are part of the heritage line as well.
