^ those look dangerously close to crocs to me.

Not really into the style, but Orlebar Brown just released something kinda similar. Basically a drainable sneaker that you can wear after you've just jumped out of the pool/ ocean.

Definitely croc-y, but not much more than EVA Birks. Shape is pretty good. They look fairly rubberish IRL.

it amuses/baffles me to no end how weird people get about feet

I train at a gym where a lot of people go barefoot, because crossfit. A lot them have some gnarly feet with yellow nails, untrimmed nails etc. etc. One guy had athlete's foot and walked around barefoot.

Speaking of...feet? shoes that go on feet? do Birkenstock-wearing types prefer the regular footbed or the soft footbed? It seems like the soft footbed would be more comfortable right off the bat but might not hold up as well in the long run.

I'm thinking about picking up a pair of Bostons to wear indoors as house slippers once the weather cools down.

don't like the soft footbed it feels uncomfortable but realize that birks are divisive some folks absolutely hate them altogether.

I've only tried the hard footbed version. It was crazy uncomfortable and I can't imagine walking around in them until they break in.

counterpoint: my classic footbed pair are the most comfortable shoes I own, and were right out of the box. Only shoes (that aren't athletic shoes) I can spend all day in (and I work standing 50% of the time).

Yea, I've heard amazing things from longtime Birk owners. Maybe I tried the wrong size or something, but I lasted all but 1 min or so in them.

Are there any other US stockists of the Sublime paper hats NMWA was selling? Realized I want one but they're all sold out. Or even something similar.
