Price resistance. What are you prepared to pay?

Socal's thread concerning the "possible" demise of BOO was interesting in that it brought up a couple of comments concerning price resistance to certain brands and items.
As I work in the garment industry and can see what a rocky path lie's ahead my spending habits have become more frugal these past six months. More J-Crew, some H&M and thrift'n versus Barney's and Opening Ceremony purchases of yesteryear.
My question is what price do you consider to be your cut-off per item?. My maximum personal expenditure per item as a rule (Gifts the exception) is as follows:

Tee's: $40
Shirts: $90
Jeans: $150
Outerwear: $200
Shoes: $300
Sneakers: $120

It's a function of my income. I will be prepared to pay more once I get into a higher-paying job. I simply cannot afford to pay more now.

I am also willing to spend more on tailored clothes than on casual clothes.

Barring exceptional/impulsive purchases, I guess I could break it down as follows:

Tees: $20
Shirts: $100
Jeans: $200
Outerwear: $300

Sweaters: $150
Sneakers: $100
Shoes/Boots: $250
Suits: $500

tees - $80ish for prints, aa for solid
shirts - $300ish
jeans - $500ish
outerwear - $1500ish (winter at least, more like $1000 for spring or light jackets and blazers)

sweaters/knits - $500ish
sneakers - $300ish
boots/shoes - $600ish
suits - $1500ish

these are pretty vague limits though, as i could see myself going beyond for something i absolutely loved. i guess these are more like averages.

I am still living on a non-professional salary. I try to spend as little as possible. I got a gift card from Urban Outfitters, and spent the most money I've ever spent on 3 pieces of clothing in my life. With luck though, I hope to be of the means to afford the clothes that come at a premium just out of my reach at this point.

Taking into account sales, discounts, what I am able to find in thrift stores...

tees- no more than 5 a piece for basics, 15 for band/graphic tees
shirts- 35
jeans- 100
outerwear- i thrift all my outerwear, 15 tops
sneakers- 60$
suit- (if I ever had the need or $$$ for one) 350
dress shoes/boots- 80$

These are all kind of give or take 20$ depending on the piece. I've gotten incredibly lucky, and have paid nowhere near retail for any of my nicer pieces and as a result I am a total cheapskate, and balk at 4$ oxfords at goodwill.

I don't have a cutoff, it really does depend on the particular item and how much I have disposable at the time. If I'm broke the cutoff is almost 0. If there's something I really want I'll pay a fairly large sum for it.

There are exceptions, and I'm in a job where I'm not yet feeling the current economic climate, but in general:

Tee's: $30 but I don't really buy them
Shirts: $150
Jeans: $200
Outerwear: $700
Shoes: $400
Sneakers: $150

I should also that I usually get my stuff from J Crew or similar, so it's nowhere near as much as the prices I've listed. Also, I think I buy a lot less frequently than most people here.
