i actually looked at eBay prices yesterday. **** that.

it's not a particularly rare amp, and I've seen a few pop up on CL for good prices. My advice, if you wanted an old one but don't want to give some idiot on ebay $3K, is to keep browsing a few major city CL listings. Even a beat up model can be cleaned up a bit on the cheap (note: tubes for it can be expensive), and it's not a heavy amp so shipping can be done for around $75 or so. Pay attention for the dates and whether or not it's a push/pull model (mid 70's i believe) and pay attention to a Princeton vs. a Princeton Reverb. You'll pay more for the latter, but it's worth it, and the tonal differences are not limited to just the reverb part.

Full endorsement for the Dittox2.

Go to GC, show them the various ebay listings listing it for $129 (particularly from user ProAudioStar), and they'll match price.

There's also a new EHX looper you could try out. Forget the name.

The 45000?

The thing that's annoying about all these new fancy loopers (45000, Pigtronix, Boomerang 3) is while already being a large box and not inexpensive, they also invariably require you to purchase an additional foot controller to have full functionality.

No, the 360. Nano sized.

Ahh. Only one footswitch is a bit of a deal-breaker.

It seems there really isn't a middle ground of simple looper with two footswitches and a decent number of storage slots.

I like the Jazz Messengers a lot. Django is good. I generally don't care for modern jazz guitarists. Their solos sound like finger exercises and such. I like chord melody a lot. I think in general I like "jazz" not jazz guitarists.

I recommend Barney Kessel, Tal Farlow, Wes Montgomery, Charlie Christian and Johnny Smith in no order.

Charlie Christian is awesome. I like some of Wes, not all though. I'll look into the others. I tend to like other jazz musicians than guitarists. I love Monk, Mingus, Coltrane, Horace Silver, Hawkins, Young.

The grocery store where I shop usually has a piano player playing schmaltzy pop-jazz arrangements out of a book. Yesterday the guy was playing Peace by Horace Silver - wasn't the best I've heard it, but a very welcome change.

Nice list.
