I think the photo I posted (taken from Tricker's X account) is of a sample/prototype boot and the mid-sole is leather - if the midsole is made from foam I'm not sure if dubbin would have any effect on the colour. I didn't notice the stitching was so dark but in a different photo from the same shoot it's definitely orange - other possibility is the stitching and midsole have absorbed moisture which has led to them darkening.
So it's not you wearing them after all!

The red carpet should of been a giveaway!

The toe-box looks really wide in the photos, how did you find the fit across the foot?

The other thing I notice is the mid-sole looks almost white (in some photos, maybe samples it looks much darker). Is that midsole the exposed EVA foam?

I'm guessing it's the lighting but the orange stitching looks a bit pale.

Yes, the toe box does look wide. I might even have to go down to an 8.5 with a width like that. And why is the layer below the welt so pale? But there's something else, the tongue isn't long enough (high enough). The tongue needs to be up above - by about 1 cm - the top lace position. That's not looking good. But maybe because the photo has been taken from some Trickers website it's not yet the real thing.

I'm not sure how you have got the impression I was wearing a pair?

My impression is the layer below the welt is EVA foam. They are probably samples in the photo which may or may not explain the low tongue.

The description states the they have an EVA midsole 'as extra cushioning and rebound aid'.

Hi everyone. Just picked up a pair of acorn Stow's. They popped up in my area, only worn twice and for a really great price. It's been the pair I've been eyeing but it was out of my price range new, so very happy.

What polish is best to use? I got into shoe shining so got a Saphir kit in black and neutral (renovateur, creme and polish).

Should I just stick with neutral for now and add 03. Light brown next?

Nice pickup of a classic pair. I would personally stick with neutral creme polish and use rennovateur every once in a while (twice yearly at most). Some people like to use a pigmented polish which will give you subtly different results over time. Just get on with wearing them and enjoy them as they age.
