It's on the side of the vamp on the left shoe, therefore not visible in the pics above. I can take a pic by daylight tomorrow if you're interested?Show us the stain.

Arch support on Bourtons????????????.Matchesfashion sent me these today. As always, super quick and almost obsessively well packed.
EDIT: Just initiated a return due to a stain from some rubberlike substance on the left shoe that turned out to be too visible and also non-removable. Back to shopping for Bourtons, with increased confidence...

Ox reversed suede Bourtons in a very dark shade of navy. Note the thin sole – they're made without a midsole. I have avoided this construction which Tricker's is marketing as being more flexible (duh...) and lightweight but which I suspect is just cheaper to make and less durable. At half price I thought I'd give it a try though.

Being my first pair on the 4444 last, the Bourtons fit my feet really well. Slightly wider overall than the 4497 but much more comfortable for my toes. Better arch support as well (which I didn't expect).

Like them very much. Not sure what to wear them with, though.

Not a massive difference in the colours I don’t think. Both are very much ‘traditional’ Trickers colours.
The leather soles are chunky and wear the same as many other leather soles. Lots of people advocate cover soles or half soles which greatly increases longevity. My Keswick shoes I’ve left alone though and intend on getting a rubber sole when time comes to change rather than spend money beforehand.
Marron and C-shade are not close in my opinion. Marron is a chestnut brown with some red tones.
C-shade is more like tan. Like their acorn only darker and duller. I think the marron is more versatile.
Marron probably a bit darker your correct sir. Both lovely colours though so wear em well.
It depends how you walk. If you walk hard on the toe area, the front of the sole can wear down quickly. If you want to keep that part flush with the rest, consider a toe tap. After that, they should be fine. For me, wearing leather soled shoes takes a while to get used to. You really hear and feel the crunch of any rubble under your feet, but once you get past that, they are all good. Once the soles wear out on the ones I have, I, like Crafty, will probably go for a Dainite sole. The Ridgeway sole is also a good option.
Have to agree there, Marron is a lovely shade. I do like C Shade but it’s more of a utilitarian, tough leather which gains more character with wear.
well, it's not like in a pair of White's?. But for some reason the shoe feels more supportive and seems to hug the bottom of my foot much better than my 4497s shoes (Stow, Brett, Woodstock).Arch support on Bourtons????????????.
Do they come with insoles?
Bourton eyelets starts really far from astragalus.
Sounds good. Would you say both last are TTS for you? Assuming you went TTS with your 4497's.
Show us the stain.
Unfortunate that they sent those out without inspecting. smh ?♂️ Are you sure you can’t clean it out? If not, make sure they pay for the return and give an apology. Best regards. Here you go:

BTW Matchesfashion still have this model in a size 11 for an incredible 148€ delivered (it's online for 185€ and the EXTRA20 code works). Also Peanut Kudu suede Montys in size 11 (160€) and the slightly darker suede Woodstock in a 12....
How would everyone here describe the 81 last in terms of fit? I am debating on getting a longwing on the 81 last or a Bourton on the 4444 last. I have previoúsly only tried on the 2298 last (Robert shoe) which was sadly too narrow on my foot; I tried both an UK9 and 9,5 and both were too narrow, despite me being a UK9 on most other brands' lasts, like Meermin Rui, Sanders Ken, Heschung Odeon and Loake Capital. I have a wide forefoot, quite low instep and narrow heel. The best fit out of any shoe for me so far has been the Heschung Odeon.
All depends on individual feet but... I’ve went TTS and it’s ok with winter socks, which was the intention of Trickers all along as they’d be worn on country pursuits.I have found a sale for Bourtons, however the website only carries whole sizes so I had little choice but to go TTS instead of going half a size down. I have a fairly high instep that might offset things, but I was wondering if anyone else went TTS with the 4444 last, and what was your experience?
I do have the Stow boots, which I bought TTS. It fits me well, if not slightly snug.
