Does anybody has experience with fitting 6 vs fitting 5?
I have a high instep and I wonder if getting a fitting 6 (Ripon) will be roomier than my Burfords on the same size.

Hello Engar, Fitting 6 on 4497s Last is considerably more generous than fitting 5.
General rule of thumb would mean that most wearing lets say UK 9 fitting 5 on 4497s Last, can comfortably drop Half a Size to UK 8 1/2 in same 4497s Last but Fitting 6.
If you have a Burford already and are struggling with the Volume, then any reputable shoe repairer can easily and effectively stretch Width and Volume into a shoe.
Anything else I may be able to help you with, please do not hesitate top ask. My name is Richard and for the past 11 years was business partner at Shoehealer. I have now have a new store and you can see what we are up to by following me on Facebook here if you wish; www.facebook.com/TheShoeRoomDoncaster/?ref=bookmarks

I suppose it's a bit early but does anyone know if any retailers are going to be doing an unlined suede "tramping shoe" (I don't know if that's what they're actually called) next spring/summer? I see it's something that's usually only offered by some random retailer or through a GMTO. For those who do own them, does it agitate your heel as much as I've heard it does?
