That is a rider problem, not a bike problem.
My Buell is my starter bike. Having torque available everywhere with linear delivery is very starter friendly. Great brakes. Good handling. You can get them for $3k or less all day long. Honestly, I see now reason why you'd ever get a 250 over one, other than if you're afraid of mechanical work.
What kind do you have? I have an XB9SX, but I learned on a Blast.
