I've been searching for a pair of medallion toe shoes in brown and have had a bit of trouble. The shoes should not have a cap toe, and I'm not looking for a wing-tip, but a simple medallion on the front of a mid to dark brown shoe that is not too expensive (I cannot go much higher than $500) and doesn't use an ugly, plastic-looking leather (Johnston & Murphy comes to mind).
Does anyone have any ideas? And if the maker has narrow sizes, that would be great. Please bear in mind I live in San Francisco, and do not travel to many places with a better selection.
I think I saw one in Rome by Harris, but for some reason did not buy it.
Gravati makes a nice medallion toe, but only in burgundy and black.
Canali had a beautitul one at Nordstrom (the polish was a richly textured brown and black that I really loved), but it was so wide and so long in the toe that my size 9 foot was sliding around in the size 8, so I had to pass.
